The final round of betting is called the showdown. This is when the highest-ranking poker hand is revealed. Typically, the winner of the pot is the player who holds the highest-ranking poker hand. The earliest known form of poker was played with only 20 cards. It closely resembles the Persian game of as nas. Several countries also use a short pack, which is a single deck of cards. These packs are often short-lived, and can be removed after several games.
